Gaza Conflict Results in Journalist Casualties and News Blackout

Deadliest Month for Journalists in Gaza Amid IDF Offensive, Says CPJ

The IDF's recent actions in Gaza have brought about the highest journalist death toll in over thirty years, reports the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ). A significant increase in violence has resulted in not only the loss of lives but also a substantial reduction in media coverage.

As the conflict escalated following attacks that started on the 7th of October, the IDF's response has been a combination of airstrikes and a ground offensive. This intense military response has been blamed for the deadly conditions journalists in the region now face, leading to what CPJ terms a 'news blackout'.
